Powerful SEO Techniques that Generate Real Traffic

Google dominates the flow of traffic on the Internet. In fact, the three major products of the tech giant are Google Search, Google Images and Google Maps which account for 92.96% of the total global traffic.

So, if you want to direct traffic to your website, you can skip the search engine optimization requirement.

However, SEO is an ever-evolving discipline and trends that affect its efficiency do not always adopt a sense of perspective. That’s why they are called trends, right? But, the variable nature of SEO does not violate the need for professionals who have a firm grasp on contemporary growth practices.

Such techniques, when used properly, will not only improve your online presence, but also help your businesses grow in versatile ways. More precisely, SEO forces webmasters to think about their websites from a holistic perspective. Therefore, at the end of the day, the most effective SEO practices share the agenda of reaping the best customer experience. Let’s look at these three methods and prepare yourself with ways to skyrocket traffic flow to your website.

Focus on the intent, not the entry

It is true that much of SEO still revolves around getting the right keywords and working around them. However, since Google's rank Brain update (and now the BERT update), the search engine has shifted its focus to understanding user focus. Previously, Google would display search results by comparing keywords in queries with web pages in its database.

That is why many websites have been involved in keyword-stuffing in the past and have plagued the Internet with subpar content. Prior to the Rank brain update, such pages were able to top many searches.

But, after the update, Google will analyze the questions from a semantic angle. Rank brain is how surface level breaks down here:-

·        User makes a search on Google.

·        Google returns a list of web pages.

Thereafter, there are two distinct possibilities: -

·        The user finds the search results to be satisfactory and clicks on a SERP of his/her choosing.

·        The user doesn’t find anything of relevance and gives up on his query without clicking through on any website.

In case(a), Google finds no errors in its algorithm and maintains the status quo of the search results. However, in the case of (b), Google recognizes that its current ranking system is flawed and will make changes accordingly. In short, search results that lead to user satisfaction are ranked higher than those without. Now, there are some things you can do to use this knowledge.

But, the most functional change you can make here is to try to increase the organic click-through-rate for your website.

Looking at how the rank brain works, a high CTR visually translates into a higher ranking. But, if you do not know what your CTR rates are, how can you improve them? So, the first step you need to take is to help the Google search console. If you need help setting up the tool, here is a resource that will prove useful.

Once you're done, identify web pages with low click-through-rates and conduct an audit to identify and fill in the gaps. Most often, it is possible to improve your title and description tags. So, start from there. Here's a clever trick to get information from Google Adwords ads

As the keywords used in such ads are adapted after extensive research, you may be inspired by them to embellish your page titles and meta descriptions.

Another quick alternative here is to enhance the title and description tags with numbers. Research shows that users are instantly attracted to content with numbers. For example, write '5 proven SEO strategies' instead of 'proven SEO strategies.

(As you can see from the title of this post, we practice what we teach!)

Other factors that affect CTR are 'bounce rate' and 'dual time'. The previous one gives you a metric (which is clearly not good) to see how often users leave your website in 3 seconds. On the other hand, 'dual time' refers to the time a user spends on the SERP after clicking (longer is better).

But, here is the million dollar question: how can you change the above criteria to your advantage?

Well, the answer is simple. Do not let your visitors die! Greet them with a strong, from time to time, sufficiently detailed introduction and make your intentions clear from the beginning.Furthermore, divide your content into digestible parts that can meet speed-readers and skimmers.

(Brian Dean of Backlinko is a master at creating effective contacts and following up with valuable bite-sized pieces of information. Also, we practice what we teach!) We have it for you until we increase the organic CTR. But, there is another powerful SEO technique that we need to discuss. So, here it is!

Revive dying content and stop it from killing your website’s traffic

Let's get one thing out. If your website does not win the top spot in Google search, your odds of running organic traffic are hopeless. As this study suggests, SERPs that do not occupy the top 3 positions do not receive organic click-through-rates.

So, if you are trying to find useless content, look for pages that occupy double-digit ranks or insufficient single-digit ranks. By the way, look for pages that are ranked 7th and 15th.

To do this, you need to play with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Ahrefs' Site Explorer.

Once you have access to the analytics tool, identify the barriers in your content. Look for problem areas such as outdated publishing years, broken links, irrelevant screenshots, etc. Once you've identified the problem areas, make the necessary changes and revitalize your old content. If all goes well, you can expect to get 260.7% more organic traffic in 14 days.
